TOW BADGE TABLED

March 14, 2001: The Towing and Recovery Association of America will not have anything to do with the "Tow Badge", at least not at this time. The "Emergency Tower" metal badge created by Donnie Cruse of WreckMaster, and designed to represent WreckMaster and TRAA certified towers exclusively, will not have TRAA's endorsement or participation, according to an association official who attended TRAA's leadership conference on March 9th. There was varying opinion as to how law enforcers and fire fighters would respond to that kind of authority-symbol being worn by towing professionals. Also an issue is the difference of testing methods used by both parties. TRAA's testing program mandates proxies present to monitor all tests, while WreckMaster's testing is open book without third party monitors.
